Q+A with Brooke Ritchie
Tell us a little bit about yourself and where do you live?
I’m a mum of 2. We live on the Sunshine Coast. We bought our second home two years ago and decided to renovate. We own a brick and block laying company locally which we both enjoy and I love the content side of things behind the scene.
Do you have any favourite spots to visit or favourite things to do in your home town?
Favourite spots are any beach in Caloundra, my pool and love an occasional visit up to Noosa. My hometown is Buderim where we resides when we first moved to the coast in 2002 and Toowoomba prior to that so I always feel like home when I’m at these places :)
What’s your daily routine?
The kids are my alarm so whenever they wake I’m up with them. I always make the beds first, have breaky and make a coffee. I find this starts the day well. I’m studying interior design so the days the kids are in daycare/kindy 2-3 times a week I’ll do but by bit of my course and shoot any content that arrives the day before if I have time alongside other errands. It all depends on how smoothly my day runs haha.
Our Postcards Collection is all about bringing the ‘holiday to your home’, do you have any favourite holiday memories?
We love camping so holidays that we cherish are the camping ones. It’s like a home away from home. We visited an island off qld a few years ago which I’ll never forget, it was dreamy.
If you could travel anywhere tomorrow, where would it be?
Fiji, Greece, Mykonos or New Zealand.
Do you keep little momentos, photos or trinkets from your favourite spots you visit?
Shells! And lots of them. We always take our film and digital cameras everywhere we go.
What are your home and styling tips?
The less the better, add warmth but keep the tones similar.
What do you think makes a home, a home?
The kids artwork, we love displaying in our home, every time they draw a new piece it’s either on the fridge or framed even if it’s as simple as a stick figure haha.
What are your favourite Black Salt Co pieces from our Postcards Collection?
It’s all so beautiful but….. we are totally obsessed with our Desa Bar Stools. The quality is something else and very sturdy with little ones.
